Feb 6, 2013 · Hi, I've got a C4 Picasso 1.6 HDi BMP 2008. Every time I power it up it displays "PARKING BRAKE FAULTY" and after a while "ESP / ASR FAULTY". Still everything works except for the automatic parking brake application and the service light is illuminated.
Feb 8, 2019 · There are lots of possible faults (below), but you would apparently be most worried about fault C1556 as it may mean replacing the handbrake mechanism. You should first check battery age and condition, connectors, earth points and the harness for a possible rub through near the pedal gear support stay.
Feb 10, 2015 · Although within service interval they said it was common for water to build up in the filter and then freeze in cold conditions blocking the flow of diesel. They also said the EGR valve was sticking open. I got them to change the fuel filter but not the EGR valve as they couldn't do it that day and it would've added £250 on to the bill.
Dec 1, 2015 · I was told the reason for this happening was the battery I put in was too powerful and blew this part. Was told the battery had to be 70AH no higher. Almost certainly something shorted out, probably during the removal or replacement of the battery. The battery capacity is completely irrelevant.

Easy enough to do yourself. If I remember correctly, they are wound back in clockwise. Think the GP's got the standard VTS Coupe brake setup, least my old 2.0 HDI GP had the same as my VTS set up.
